The Baltic Pipe, due to open this week, will be able to transport up to twice as much gas as planned from Norway to Poland this year.
The pipeline is on track for the planned launch on 1 October.
The date coincides with the end of Poland’s current long-term supply contract with Russia’s Gazprom.
